Day 01
Arrive Hanoi

Welcome to your 'Cox & Kings - Classical Vietnam & Cambodia' tour.

Arrive in Hanoi and proceed to the hotel (transfers would be on your own arrangements).

Note: Check-in time is after 1400 hours.

The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 02
Hanoi

Today, drive to the historic complex of Ba Dinh. Visit Ba Dinh Square, where The Late President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam's Independence on 2 September 1945, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, the must-see monument in Hanoi. It is an ancient Buddhist pagoda, built in the early 11th century in the reign of King Ly Thai Tong, all construction supported by only one pillar, resembling a Buddhist lotus. Also visit Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple.

After lunch, visit Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature - the first imperial school in Vietnam) built in 1070 during the dynasty of King Ly.

Day 03
Hanoi - Ha Long Bay - Cruise Embarkation

After breakfast, drive to Ha Long bay to board the cruise.

Day 04
Cruise Disembarkation - Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

Early morning, enjoy Taiche class on board. Then, visit Thien Cung Grotto and Dau Go Cave. The natural caves in limestone formations are crammed with stalactites and stalagmites. There are numerous rocks and islands, which are predominantly composed of hardened dolomite together with smaller amounts of calcium carbonate.

Then, disembark the cruise and transfer to Hanoi.

On arrival, proceed on a city tour. Visit the complex of the Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple (Jade mountain Temple), But Tower, Dai Nghien (Ink Stand), and the Red - painted wooden Huc Bridge. Also, trip around with 36 streets of Ha Noi old quarter on a cyclo (pedicab).

Post dinner, continue to your hotel and check-in.

Day 05
Hanoi - Hue

Today, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue.

On arrival in Hue, proceed to the hotel and check-in.

. Later, visit two majestic and serene Tombs of Emperors: Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Also see the Royal Citadel which was constructed by Emperor Gia Long in the style of French military architect during the first decades of the 19th century.

In the evening, take a boat trip a long Huong River (Perfume River) and enjoy traditional folk songs with a royal dinner.

Day 06
Hue - Hoi An

Today, transfer to Hoi An.

On the way, visit Hai Van pass - a site that is covered in clouds all year round. Enjoy breathtaking views of mountain landscapes, long stretches of beach, turquoise water of Lang Co's lagoon and the South China Sea Beyond. Visit an ancient town which represents the ancient architecture of Hoi An. It is a fascinating combination of Vietnamese traditional characters with Chinese and Japanese influence. Then, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuoc Kien Merchant Temple, the 200 years old Tam Ky House, Chua Ong Pagoda and the vibrant market.

Lastly, embark on a walking tour past many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets and assembly halls which reflect the town's multi-cultural past.

Continue to the hotel and check-in.

Day 07
Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Today, drive to Da Nang for visiting Cham Museum.

Then, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

En route, enjoy a short city tour (time permitting) visiting Cho Lon, Thien Hau Pagoda, followed by shopping at China Town. Then, transfer to the hotel and check-in.

Day 08
Ho Chi Minh City

Today morning, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Visit the underground village, which used to be a bitter battle ground for a long period during the Vietnam war. The amazing network of over 200 km of underground tunnels will offer you impression of the former fierce war in South Vietnam.

Then, enjoy a city tour visiting the Reunification Palace, War Crime Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, former US Embassy, shopping at Ben Thanh Market.

Day 09
Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Can Tho

Today, check-out and depart to Mekong Delta. Upon arrival at My Tho, cruise by paddles along small creek to Mekong River estuary, to Con Phung (Phoenix Island).

Continue to the city of Can Tho, the unofficial capital of the Mekong Delta in the very center the world's newest river delta.

Continue to your hotel in Can Tho and check-in.

Day 10
Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City

Today, enjoy a city tour that starts from Ninh Kieu boat quay. Cruise along the small and picturesque tributaries seeing the Cai Rang floating market (the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats). Take in the beautiful scenery and the daily activities of the locals who lives along the Mekong canals and you will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill and a rice noodles making shop.

Get a chance to discover the daily life of Vietnamese people in Mekong Delta then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 11
Ho Chi Minh City- Phnom Penh

After breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Phnom Penh.

On arrival, embark on a city tour. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. The treasures found inside include a solid gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90 kilograms and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. Then, continue to explore the Toul Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek-both grim reminders of Cambodia's bloody past under Pol Pot. It is almost inconceivable to confront the nature of true evil here in this gentle land, but the Buddhist memorial at Choeung Ek, commemorates the 1.7 million victims of the 1975-79 Pol Pot regime. This excursion may prove distressing for some. It is, however, an important piece of this country's historical and cultural puzzle.

Later, transfer to your hotel and check-in.

Day 12
Phnom Penh

This morning, explore the National Museum's collection of Khmer art, which displays over 5,000 objects including statues and other artifacts from Angkor Wat. Then, discover Phnom Penh's Psar Toul Tom Pong, known as the Russian Market, a great place to hunt for souvenirs, curios, and silks.

After lunch, visit the Toul Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek - both grim reminders of Cambodia's bloody past under Pol Pot. It is almost inconceivable to confront the nature of true evil here in this gentle land, but the Buddhist memorial at Choeung Ek, commemorates the 1.7 million victims of the 1975-79 Pol Pot regime. This excursion may prove distressing for some. It is, however, an important piece of this country's historical and cultural puzzle.

Day 13
Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Siem Reap.

Upon arrival, head out of town by traveling on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way we make stopover at the Preah Dark village and we follow these with a visit the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive relief's depicting scenes of Vishnu as well as Krishna legends.

In the afternoon proceed to the Puok district about 15 km in the west of Siem Reap town. Visit a silk farm/workshop where you can see the entire silk creation process including growing the food for the silk worms, breeding the worms, silk extraction and refinement, traditional kit dying pattern creation and looming. Retail silk and souvenir shop. On the way back, visit the Western Baray (Baray Occidental) which provided water for the intensive cultivation of lands around Angkor. Also visit the Landmine Museum on the way.

Continue to the hotel and check-in.

Day 14
Siem Reap

This morning, explore the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Then, continue to Preah Khan which was built in 1191 during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. He was a warrior king celebrated for reconstructing the Khmer Empire after a period of fragmentation. Jayavarman first made a name for himself in 1165, when news of a rebellion reached his ears. Rushing home from the Cham Kingdom, where he resided, he arrived too late to stop the usurper Tribhuvanadityavarman from crowning himself King of the Khmers.

In the afternoon, visit the jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm is an incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man's creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.

Later, complete our temple tours to the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. Stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.

End the day enjoying the view of the Sunset at Srah Srang area.

Day 15
Homeward Bound

Today, drive to the floating village of Choueng Kneas where you will take the boat to witness the way of life of poor Cambodian people along with schools, restaurants, hospitals and much more that floats on the great lake of Tonle Sap.

You may even see enterprising children floating in buckets selling soft drinks and floating pig pen. Also, visit the 'Chantiers Ecoles - Les Artisans d'Angkor' which provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpting.

Then, transfer to the airport (on your own arrangements) for your flight back home.
