Day 01
Arrive Beijing

Welcome to your 'Cox & Kings - Classical China' tour!

On arrival in Beijing, your Cox & Kings representative will greet you at the 'meeting point' at the exit. After immigration and customs, transfer comfortably to the hotel (check-in after 14:00 hours).

The evening is at leisure. You have an option to enjoy the Golden Mask Show.

Day 02

Today, your day unfolds with a guided orientation tour of Beijing, viewing historic landmarks like Tiananmen Square, the largest open public square in the world, flanked by the imposing Tiananmen Gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace), the original gate of the Imperial Palace. Continue to the Forbidden City. Admire this architectural masterpiece with exotic pavilions, serene courtyards, rich halls and flourishing gardens.

The grand finale is a visit to the Summer Palace, a magnificent imperial garden located 12 km west of Beijing City. A summer retreat for emperors and a chosen few in the past, it is now the largest and most ancient preserved garden in China and includes over 100 ancient pavilions, mansions, towers, halls, temples, bridges and an enormous clear water lake.

Day 03

Today, visit the only man-made structure visible from the moon, the Great Wall of China at Juyong Pass. It is one of the oldest historical monuments in the world and a symbol of China's ancient civilisation. Traditionally known as the 'Wall of Ten Thousand Li', it leaves you spellbound by its sheer magnitude and architectural splendour.

Later, proceed to visit the Temple of Heaven, a complex of religious buildings visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to heaven for a good harvest. Later, visit a Jade Factory. Make a brief photo stop at the Beijing Olympic Park for an outside view of the Bird's Nest Stadium and National Aquatic Centre. Finally, visit the Da-Shi-Lan, one of Beijing's most famous old-fashioned streets with a history dating back 570 years. It was built in 1430, the 18th year of Emperor Yong Le's rule during the Ming Dynasty.

Day 04
Beijing - Xian

Today, check-out and transfer to the train station to board the high speed train to Xi'an.

On arrival, enjoy the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Fountain show. The pagoda houses sutras collected by a wandering Chinese monk in India, celebrating the onset of Buddhism in China.

Continue to your hotel and check-in.

The rest of the evening is at leisure. You can opt to enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 05
Xian - Chongqing - Cruise embarkation

Today, visit the archaeological site of the amazing Terracotta Warriors - a collection of life-sized figures of warriors, horses, chariots celebrating Chinese unification. The figures vary in height according to their role, the tallest being the General. Also visit a Special Art and Lacquer workshop.

Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Chongqing.

On arrival, proceed to the cruise terminal and board the Yangtze Cruise.

Day 06
On board the cruise

Today, relax on the deck and marvel at the scenic beauty as your cruise ship sails into Fengdu. Enjoy a shore excursion to Fengdu - the City of Ghosts on the Ming Hill. You may climb the winding cobblestone road or take a cable car to reach the 288 meter-high Ming Hill.

This evening, have an enjoyable time at Captain's Welcome Party as the ship anchors at WanXian for an overnight halt.

Day 07
On board the cruise

Today, as you enjoy breakfast, pass through the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Proceed on an excursion of the Three Little Gorges. The magnificent Qutang Gorge extends 8 km and leads us to the splendor of Wu Gorge.

Disembark for a shore excursion to Shennong Gorge - enjoy the sight of the crystal clear stream flowing swiftly from north to south through deep gorges. Later, sail into the west section of the third gorge of the Yangtze - Xiling Gorge. It is the longest of the gorges after which the ships pass through the 5-stage ship locks. As you pass through the gorge, the river varies from 200 metres wide at its broadest to just 10 metres. The thundering waters and towering crags make for a most breathtaking sight.

Day 08
Cruise disembarkation - Yichang - Wuhan - Shanghai

After breakfast onboard, enjoy a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, the largest project of its kind in the world. The dam is 1983 metres long and 185 metres high. Its construction involved the relocation of 13 cities, 140 towns and 1.3 million people. Drive across the Three Gorges Bridge which takes you to the observation deck. See the 5-step ship lock, the diversion canal, the dam in construction and the power station.

After the ship sails into Yichang, disembark and proceed to the airport in Wuhan for your flight to Shanghai.

On arrival, transfer to your hotel and check-in.

Day 09

Today, begin your guided orientation tour with a visit to a Buddhist shrine - Jade Buddha Temple. It is named for its two bejewelled white jade Buddha statues carved from a whole piece of white jade, displaying the skill and extraordinary art of Chinese people. Next, proceed for a visit to the Pearl Factory. Thereafter, head to Nanjing Road for some great value-for-money shopping. Nanjing Road starts at the Bund and runs westward with People's Square in the middle. It earned its reputation as the 'First Commercial Road in China'. Some of the traditional food and handicrafts of Shanghai can be found here.

Next, proceed to the Bund. The renowned waterfront district is the city's most famous landmark. Finally, visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower which was completed on 01st October 1994. It has become a symbol of the city and a popular tourist attraction.

The rest of the evening is at leisure. You can option to enjoy the Acrobatic Show at ERA theatre.

Day 10
Homeward Bound

This morning, transfer to the Longyang Road Station to board the Maglev train to the airport.
